OAS 2020 – Call for Papers
Dear OAS members:
We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers and Sessions for the Ontario Archaeological Society Symposium that will be held in Hamilton, October 23-25, 2020! We invite you to submit a paper, poster, or session topic. The main theme is Archaeologies of Resilience. The OAS 2020 Organizing Committee adopted this theme because it reflects the issues facing Ontario archaeology in the coming decade, such as climate change, diminishing role of academic research, decolonization of archaeology, fair, secure, and equitable employment in CRM, publication, funding and political support for archaeology and museums, and inclusion of Indigenous peoples and minority groups in archaeology.
We welcome any papers, posters or sessions related to the symposium theme of Archaeologies of Resilience. In addition, we welcome posters, papers or short sessions (afternoon or morning) on other topics. Posters are an excellent way to showcase student research. Poster, paper and session proposals must be accompanied by a title and short abstract (no more than 150 words) and they should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than July 31, 2020. For more information, visit the OAS website. We hope to see you in Hamilton!
Warmest regards, OAS 2020 Conference Committee
